The Scout Group has donated a further £21,000 to the Appeal fund, bringing their total donation to a magnificent £39,545. Consisting of an insurance payment, for the ancillary building demolished by a fallen tree, and a Group donation this is very welcome boost to the fund. The Range building will be replaced after the Community Centre construction is completed.
We have £177,000 in the Building Appeal fund, another £80,000 will enable us to get the old hut demolished and the site preparation work donated for free then construction can begin.
Our grant application has moved to the 2nd stage of the National Lottery assessment process, so we are hoping that our application is a success.
The Appeal has raised funds of £174,210 and promissory notes valued at £35,000 so we are getting ever closer to the day when work can start constructing the new Community Centre. A lottery grant has been applied for, but the Lottery don’t generally grant funds to Scout Groups , so we need all the help from kind donors that we can beg.
The Centre will be constructed over two stages, with a contractor constructing the shell building and services, then the second phase will be to complete the internal fit-out. The internal fit-out will be mostly completed by volunteer trades and unskilled labour using mostly donated materials.
If there is anything that you feel that you can do to help, whether a cash donation or a promise of materials or labour, please contact David Malkin via David.firstname.lastname@example.org
The Scout Community Centre will be a tremendous asset for our village, but we’ve still got a lot of work to do and we need all the help that we can get.
The Cubs and their leaders raised £4,030 for the Appeal fund in their Centenary Year. WOW!!! What a wonderful effort!!
By taking part in sponsored events such as swims, cycle rides, cake sales, toy sales, running 1 mile each day, a mass sponsored silence and a whole load more, these “Cracking Cubs” have laid down a challenge to the Scout Troops and Explorer section to better their effort.
Thanks kids, we’re proud of all that you are doing!
The Rampion Fund at Sussex Community Foundation have awarded £50,000 to the Henfield Scout Community Centre Building Appeal. This is a real boost to the Appeal fund and draws the construction start date ever closer.
